Halloween is just around the corner! As a mom, I love the excitement around Halloween. Costumes, Trick-or-Treating and parties are all full of fun but, many of us become a little, or a lot, sugared out! Between the bags of candy from Trick-or-Treating and the parties, some with frosted cupcakes, juice, and more candy, it becomes a big sugar fest with lots of melt downs, at least on my end. And things are even tougher on Halloween for kids with sensory issues. Anyone else with me on this? Healthier halloween snack options are hard to come by and we need them.
We need some healthy Halloween snack ideas to fuel the madness!
If you are volunteering to bring in a snack for your child’s classroom party, or just looking for a fun Halloween activity to do with your kids, check out my list of 6 easy, fun, and healthy Halloween snack ideas. No baking required and they are made mostly with fresh fruits and vegetables. Many teachers actually request healthier Halloween snack options and we should be prepared! Having healthy Halloween snack options can be a welcome break from all the candy.
My girls helped me create these healthier Halloween snack options below. I know these are far from Pinterest worthy but it is all about the process and not the final product, at least that is what I keep telling myself! We had a blast problem-solving, working together as a team, and figuring out what foods to represent each feature. While not all of these Halloween treats are allergy-friendly, many are!
