Here is your guide to NH Seacoast events and beyond for June! This is in no way intended to be a comprehensive event guide, so if you have suggestions or any great events that we’ve missed, please leave a comment to let us know!

June 1 (Portsmouth) :: Fit4Mom Seacoast Summer Programs help moms make strides in fitness, motherhood and life.

June 1 (Portsmouth) :: Hike It Baby is focused on getting families outside and active as quickly as possible. Find a hike in June!

June 2 (Portsmouth) :: Kick back, get involved in relaxing activities and recharge your parenting battery in Parent Recharge from Families First. Child care and refreshments included.

June 3 (Rochester) :: Rochester Opera House presents Curious George: The Golden Meatball! With every swing and flip, George takes the audience through a fun-filled adventure in which he learns more about Rome…and meatballs!

June 4 (Dover) :: Anyone Can Grow Food at The Children’s Museum of New Hampshire. Help plant the museum’s vegetable and herb garden and learn how to plant your own vegetable seeds and seedlings and care for them. Everyone will leave with a vegetable seedling to plant in their own garden at home.

June 4 (Dover) :: Prom for a Purpose will be a night of fun, dancing, a photographer to capture moments, light apps, cash bar, and lots of raffles all to benefit the Seacoast Cancer Center at Wentworth-Douglas Hospital.

June 4 (Exeter) :: Are you ready to celebrate National Trails Day? Join representatives from the Exeter Conservation Commission for guided story walks every 30 minutes at the Morrissette Conservation Area. Guides will read a story and lead participants along an easy path as they learn about the life cycle of the monarch butterfly. Once they reach the meadow, kids can launch a “seed bomb” into the field to distribute milkweed seeds.

June 4 (Hampton) :: Run for the Ocean 5K is a unique race that is half on the beach, half on the pavement! It will also features a Beach Cleanup and Live Music on Hampton Beach.

June 4 (Kensington) :: 2016 Anniversary Block Party at Eastman’s Corner is a FREE event featuring great live music, dozens of vendors and community partners, great local food, games, activities and more, this is summer party you don’t want to miss!

June 4 (Portsmouth) :: The 32nd Annual WOKQ Chowder Festival kicks off the amazing season at Prescott Park Arts Festival. A staple of summer in Portsmouth with plenty of piping hot chowder recipes to enjoy, live music and refreshing drinks, this event is always a great time!

June 4 (Rochester) :: The 5th Annual Wings & Wheels Event at Skyhaven Airport is a family fun outdoor festivity offering thrilling plane & helicopter rides, including FREE plane rides for kids ages 8-17!

June 5 (Dover) :: New Hampshire Soap Box Derby Annual Local Championship Race is for boys & girls ages 7 to 20 who are invited to build a car and compete in the race. Free for spectators.

June 5 (Salisbury) :: Brunch by the Sea with the Little Mermaid and Capt. Jack Sparrow at the Blue Ocean Music Hall features a special pirate magic juggling show performance by Captain Robbie Bones. He’ll also teach you to talk like a pirate and laugh like a rogue, and someone will have to walk the plank!

June 5 (Stratham) :: Stratham Hill Paws Walk will feature a 1 or 2 mile trail walk at Stratham Hill Park, fun activities, amazing doggie demonstrations, local vendors, and delicious food.

June 6 (Exeter) :: History on the Run is designed to attract area athletes and athletic enthusiasts for a go-at-your-own pace 3 mile loop run which starts and ends at the Folsom Tavern and passes by the historic sites of Exeter, including String Bridge, the Mills, the Powder House, Swasey Parkway and more.

June 7 (North Hampton) :: Breastfeeding 101 at Seacoast Birth & Family Connection features a Boston Baby Beginnings expert instructor who combines discussion, demonstration and hands on components for a great learning experience (and leaves plenty of time to answer all your questions).

June 7 (Portsmouth) :: Mother-to-Mother Postpartum Group at Families First offers support for mothers during their baby’s first year, when postpartum depression and anxiety are common. Come be with other mothers who know what it’s like.

June 9 (Exeter) :: Water Street Bookstore welcomes author Angela Hanscom to discuss her new book, Balanced and Barefoot, about how outdoor play and the unrestricted freedom of movement are vital for children’s cognitive and physical development and growth, along with tons of fun.

June 9 (Stratham) :: Children will listen to a story about an animal, color a picture of an animal and visit the animals in the classroom at Story Time with Animals at NHSPCA.

June 10 – 19 (Rollinsford) :: Garrison Players Arts Center presents Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Jr.

June 11 (Dover) :: Steam Saturday Series: Stomp Rocket at the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire is high-flying adventure as you’ll explore aerodynamics, construct your own stomp rocket launchers and make paper rockets to test them out.

June 11 (Portsmouth) :: Sidewalk Astronomy Skywatch from the New Hampshire Astronomical Society offers the public the opportunity to observe the moon, planets and other celestial highlights through members’ telescopes.

June 12 (Rye) :: Join Seacoast Science Center to celebrate World Oceans Day and learn about the important role ocean health plays in everyday life, through fun, hands-on, family-friendly activities.

June 15 (Hampton) :: Fireworks are held weekly on Hampton Beach beside the Atlantic Ocean. Bring a blanket and the whole family to experience the magic of the night sky lit by a display of beautiful fireworks.

June 15 – 16 (Manchester) :: Singin’ In the Rain Jr.! Tap your toes and sing along in this splashy adaptation of the world’s most celebrated movie musical performed by the Palace Teen Apprentice Company.

June 16 – 18 (Hampton) :: The 16th Annual Master Sand Sculpting Classic is back at Hampton Beach! Don’t miss the fun!

June 18 (Exeter) :: Make A Father’s Day Gift at Churchill’s! Plant a Father’s Day gift for your pop, grandpa, uncle, brother, husband, or friend. A great way to celebrate that special guy!

June 18 (Exeter) :: Celebrate the kick-off to summer at Laney & Lu Cafe’s SUMMER FEST! A day of local food, music, and fun! Spend the day on their patio or bring your picnic blanket to relax on the green of the Gilman Garrison House next to the patio.

June 18 (Kittery) :: The Foreside Music Festival is at The Black Birch!

June 18 (Rochester) :: Come Join Broadview Animal Hospital’s First-Ever Dog Walk event to benefit the Homemakers of Rochester. Don’t have a dog to bring to the walk? No problem, come for the Farmer’s Market, local vendors, and Kid’s Fun Zone. Get in with a donation of your choice to The Homemakers Health Services at the door!

June 18 (Somersworth) :: Celebrate summer at the 2016 Somersworth International Children’s Festival!

June 19 (Kensington) :: Join the Farm at Eastman’s Corner for an inaugural brunch for Father’s Day! Celebrate Dad with a Farmhouse style brunch at the Kensington Food Barn. They are offering two limited seatings at 11am and 1:30pm.

June 19 (New Castle) :: Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse Open Houses are every Sunday from late May (Memorial Day weekend) through mid-October (Columbus Day weekend) from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

June 19 (Portsmouth) :: Celebrate New Hampshire’s birthday by remembering 400 years of American history in this Portsmouth waterfront neighborhood. Celebrate on Father’s Day (June 21 is New Hampshire’s actual 228th birthday). NH residents receive free admission (ID required.)

June 21 (Greenland) :: Join Bodies in Bloom for a Henna Tea Party, an evening tea ceremony in the Moroccan tradition where you will also learn to make and use henna. You will work with an all natural henna paste that is mixed on the stop with mindfulness given to the ingredients that are safe during pregnancy.

June 21 (Hampton) :: The Seacoast Mother’s Association is hosting a FREE fun Mom’s Night Out. Learn about some local vendors, the organization, taste some goodies, cash bar available, and raffles will be drawn throughout the evening. Each of our vendors has donated an item to be raffled – proceeds will benefit Families First in Portsmouth. This event is open to the public. Please feel free to grab a few friends and meet some new ones.

June 21 (North Hampton) :: This Mommy Mingle event is all about Moms Fitness & Wellness! Come connect with other moms while enjoying fresh food and yummy beverages, interactive mini workout sessions, aromatherapy essential oil demos, massage, and more! Huge giveaway prizes and goodie bags for every attending mommy!

June 21 (Portsmouth) :: Families First presents Parenting & Technology. The mix of kids and technology presents parents with a lot of pros and cons to weigh. Psychologist Laura Rubin will give a presentation on the challenges of parenting during the digital age, followed by a group discussion on navigating the increasing use of technology in children’s and adolescents’ lives.

June 21 (Portsmouth) :: Sprinkle and Splash! Catch a glimpse of the dress rehearsal of Prescott Park’s summer C&J Bus Lines musical offering, Disney’s The Little Mermaid, and FREE homemade ice cream from The Prop.

June 22 (Portsmouth) :: Portsmouth Taste of the Nation returns to fight childhood hunger on the Seacoast and beyond since 1994.

June 24 (Portsmouth) :: Disney’s The Little Mermaid live in Prescott Park! Showtimes run throughout the summer.

June 25 (Portsmouth) :: Join Ariel, Prince Eric, Sebastian, Flounder, and all your underwater friends in a Seaside Celebration fueled by activities, lunch and a chance to meet the cast of The Little Mermaid. Prescott Park will feature games, crafts, and more before serving lunch and introducing you to your underwater (and above water) friends.

June 25 (Portsmouth) :: Fill the Hall Food Drive, a collaboration between The Music Hall and the Seacoast Family Food Pantry at The Music Hall’s Historic Theater helps families in need for the second year in a row. Enjoy free activities that include historic and tech tours, live music, and the family-friendly movie Song of the Sea at the Loft.

June 25 (Portsmouth) :: Portsmouth PRIDE is a community celebration returning for its second year!

June 25:: (South Berwick) :: The 41st Annual South Berwick Strawberry Festival has food, fun and unique items handcrafted by local artisans. Enjoy free entertainment, games for the kids, trolley rides about town, food vendors, and uncounted plates of strawberry shortcake!

June 26 (South Hampton) :: The fifth annual Farm-A-Q at Heron Pond Farm is a joint effort of Slow Food Seacoast and the Heirloom Harvest Project, Farm-A-Q is a picnic-style event with a bounty of heirloom and heritage foods grown on local farms and prepared by some of the area’s best restaurants.

June 27 (Portsmouth) :: Wentworth-Douglass Hospital Movie Series kicks off in Prescott Park with Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens.

June 27 (Portsmouth) :: Free cooking and nutrition classes for kids at Hannaford at 10:00 am. Registration is required. Email Jessica.O’Connell@hannaford.com.

June 28 (Greenland) :: Bodies In Bloom presents Wellness Workshop for Women that explores women’s health as it is approached by different cultures around the world. This workshop will leave you with a deeper understanding of the many health concepts, and how they can be utilized to harmonize a woman’s mental, physical, and emotional well-being.

June 28 (North Hampton) :: DIY Essential Oil Make and Take will be a super fun evening, learning about and creating roller bottles and sprays with doTERRA certified pure therapeutic grade essential oils! Come anytime you’d like between 5:30-7:30pm and make as few or as many rollers and sprays as you’d like.

June 30 (Portsmouth) :: Beyond Time Out from Families First offers help with decision-making around time-out, and explores methods that go beyond it.
