Story Pirates at the Music Hall October 6th

Story Pirates Podcast

The award-winning Story Pirates Podcast has 6 seasons with a 7th on the way. Hosted by comedians and actors, this podcast is fueled by the creative minds of their kid listeners. Children, often members of their Creator Club, submit ideas and the hosts run with them. We’re talking runaway porches that leave their homes to start a dance party or attending a school that teaches you how to properly annoy your sister. With songs and celebrity guest starts, this podcast is a must-listen for road trips.

This incredible podcast is taking their show on the road throughout the East Coast this season. With a stop in Portsmouth on October 6th, we’re feeling pretty lucky here on the Seacoast. Think Whose Line is It Anyway? but for kids! Reliant on audience participation, your children will get the opportunity to call out zany ideas and be a part of creating the fun. You’ll laugh and be awe-struck by the creativity and hilarity of the cast (and the children around you!). This show is absolutely family-friendly!

This show is approximately 1 hour and is appropriate for all ages.

The Venue: The Music Hall in Portsmouth

We know what it’s like to bring your family to an event – it can be stressful if you don’t know all the details. That’s why we’re here, to help answer some of the questions you might have about attending Story Pirates in Portsmouth.

Where is the Music Hall?

The Music Hall – and this event is at the Historic Theater – is at 28 Chestnut Street in downtown Portsmouth.

Is there parking?

Parking can be very tricky in Portsmouth, particularly on a beautiful fall afternoon. We recommend parking at the Foundry Place Garage and walking the 5 minutes (4 blocks) to the theater.

Are there restaurants to eat at for lunch before or dinner after?

Um, so many! We recommend Cheese Louise for something quick and easy that won’t break the bank. Flatbread Company is always a great bet for everyone (even gluten and dairy free folks). The Goat has great bar food everyone will love and, if you’re feeling fancy (and your kids aren’t hooligans in restaurants like mine), you can’t go wrong with Cafe Med. Be sure to make a reservation and get the mussels.

Is there food and drink at the Music Hall?

Yes! There is a full bar and snacks for sale in both the lower lobby and second floor concession area.

Is this an accessible venue for wheelchair users and those with hearing impairments?

It is quite accessible. But we’re going to send you to their website so they can tell you all the details!

Allison’s mission in life is to notice the extraordinary in the ordinary. Her commitment to see beyond what’s in front of her was fostered by her degree in Philosophy and Theology from Boston College. Allison’s a book nerd and credits her parents and inspiring English teachers for her love of reading and writing. She went on to earn her Master in Pastoral Ministry from Boston College and then taught high school for several years, both in New England and San Francisco. After moving from San Francisco to Boston with her engineer husband, she began teaching yoga and working as a social media marketing consultant. Now a Portsmouth resident, she spends most of her days with her three daughters (she does not have enough arms) and does her best to find the bliss amidst the endless snacking, dance parties and tiaras. With all the beautiful chaos in her life, she’s grateful to have her partner-in-crime (husband Charlie) and fellow movie quote enthusiast alongside her. Her passion for writing first drew her to Seacoast Moms as a contributing writer, and her desire to connect moms of the Seacoast with businesses who serve and interest them led her to become SM’s owner. Being able to write about the ordinary grace present in motherhood, while interacting with incredible Seacoast business owners is a dream come true.
